Creating Wind Blown Grass with Wiggle Keyframe

The aim of this tutorial is to teach how to use the Wiggle Keyframe plugin to create a waving blades of grass. Before beginning this tutorial, you should have the Wiggle Keyframe plugin installed and unlocked using your serial code. If you are using the plugin evaluation mode you will only be able to wiggle one keyframe at a time. You will also need the support file for this tutorial, reeds_tutorial.car.

The 3D view should like the image to the right. Add a Bend and Twist Modifier. Scrub the timeline up around time=1sec. Make the Bend Angle 72°. Scrub forward to time=3secs and change the Bend Angle to 120° creating keyframes along the way.

Now copy the beginning keyframe and place the copy as last. You should have a timeline with 4 keyframes similar to the following. Choose each tweener and make them Bezier.

A practice render should animate like the following. Modify the Bezier tweeners if necessary to get a smooth movement.

Move the timeline back to time=0secs. Create duplicates of the blade of grass to make a small bed grass like the following image.

Open the Sequencer panel to show all the keyframes. Select all the keyframes in the 2 middle columns .

Choose Wiggle Keyframe from the Edit Menu. And enter the following values as below.

After running the command your keyframes should look like the image to the right.

Test out the animation. Tweak the keyframes if necessary. When rendered, your animation should look like the following.
