The
PiggyPack Collection has been updated! And it has a new member.
The Parent Modifier plugin allows "parent-like" behaviour on
objects that already are included in a hierarchy. This is useful in
instances where you would like parent like control over an object that
is already included in a hierarchy such as a character rig. It is now
available for both Carrara 4 and Carrara 5 as part of PiggyPack
collection. If you've already purchased a license, your license will
work with this plugin.
UPDATES! The FX Shaders , Track Amplifier , Parent, Copy Motion Data,
Track Amplifier and Track Bounding Box plugins have all been updated!
Fixing some minor bugs and opration improvements. The download for the
PiggyPack Collection already contains these updates or you may simply
download this patch containing just the updated plugins.
Orders for licenses to fully unlock the plugins are processed through
RegNow. The package will run in evaluation mode otherwise. Evaluation
mode will give limited functionality for the shaders, modifiers and the
Copy Motion Data command for a few minutes without the ability to save
or load. In Evaluation mode, FX Shaders will be watermarked and all
commands will only operate on a single selection at a time. Purchase of
a serial number will remove these limitations.
Web links restored If you were having difficulty downloading the Hand Driven Demo plugin before, the links have been fixed.

Just Added to
the Tutorials section is a demo file that includes a Carrara file and a
plugin for demonstrating what Driven can do. Normally, the Evaluation
mode for Driven will not allow you to load files with the Driven
tweener in use. Parameters of the tweener will not load. Therefore, I
have included a small plugin called DrivenDemoSetup to do the set up
for you. Just install the Driven, Convert to Wireframe and
DrivenDemoSetup to your Extensions folder and open the
HandDrivenDemo.car file. Then run the command "Driven Demo Setup" from
the Edit menu and voila, everything is set up for you to try out. Scrub
the timeline our to around time = 1sec and turn on Auto Update from the
Edit menu. Move the centerPoint object up and down to see how the hand
curls.

AUG. 7th! I have had some inquiries as to release
date and for those of you who are waiting, Driven willl be released soon!
A tentative release date has been scheduled for August 7th. I'd be happy to
release it earlier however I will be at SIGGRAPH all next week and I'd rather
be around to answer any questions any of you might have. Speaking of which,
if you happen to be at SIGGRAPH, feel free to drop by the RIT School of Film
and Animation booth from Monday till Wednesday. I will be one of the exhibitors
there. I may not be able to talk at length about Driven since I am technically
there as a representative for my animation school but we can chit chat about
3D and animation and I may have a preÐrelease trial beta available! Drop by
and ask for Mike!

Introducing New Free Plugin: Convert To WireFrame
!!! For Carrara 5 Converts an object into a WireFrame Helper Object That can
be used as a reference control object This object does not render but can
be used for example, As a IK Target instead TIP: Create a Text Object and
Convert that to a WireFrame For a non-rendering control object
