The Parent plugin has been updated to version 2.3. This update fixes an issue with scaling objects correctly when parenting or unparenting. You can get it here.

Parent is a plugin of the PiggyPack that adds two commands to your Edit menu, Parent and Unparent. Parent will make the act of parenting one object easier by the simple addition of this Edit menu command.

This is a very simple plugin but it can improve your efficiency on those large projects. It is really two menu commands. Parent and Unparent. Parent, as its name implies will parent an object or group of objects to a parent object. This differs from the normal drag and drop method native to Carrara by making it acessible as a menu command that, with the new shortcuts system in Carrara 5, can be made into a quick and easy to use keyboard shortcut.

Unparent does just that. It unparents an object from its parent object. Simple functionality that can make a world of difference. It depends on how you decide to work and it might be useful for you.
